Admissions & Registrations Policy

  1. Downderry Childcare is open to every family in the community. We operate a waiting list, admitting children to their chosen sessions in order to the dates the appropriate forms were completed.
  2. We try where possible to give priority to siblings of children already using the group as they become of an age but this is also subject to the parents/carers completing the appropriate forms and registering their wishes with Downderry Childcare staff in good time.
  3. We also try, where possible to leave some places per session unfilled so as we are able to admit children from new families entering the community, depending on the age of the children.
  4. Families joining Downderry childcare are made aware of its equal opportunities policy
  5. It is the Manager’s responsibility to ensure that before any child starts at Downderry childcare, their parents/guardians have completed the appropriate Enrollment Form which includes such details as:
    • Home and emergency telephone numbers
    • Special dietary needs
    • Doctors name and telephone number
    • Emergency medical consent
    • Authorisation forms for collecting children
