Great staff, facilities and location

We currently employ three members of staff who are qualified in EYFS Children’s Learning and Development level 3 or above, First Aid, Child Protection, Food Hygiene and are fully DBS certified.

They lead by example and develop self discipline, motivation and respect for others in every child.

Our recent OFSTED ‘outstanding’ grade for all areas is without doubt due to the commitment and dedication routinely demonstrated by the staff.

A comprehensive Child Protection Policy is in place to ensure there is minimum risk to your child and we are fully compliant with the with Discrimination and Disabilities Act 1995, Race Relations, Act 1976, Children Act 1989 and United Nations Rights Of The Child 1998).

The premises consist of a purpose built ground floor facility to cater for very child’s need; incorporating a large kitchen / craft area, games area, television room, quiet room and a classroom area.

The setting offers a wide variety of activities for all age ranges including:

  • A sand pit and water area.
  • Playground equipment including swings, slide and trampoline.
  • Ride-on toys.
  • A small heated pool

For rainy days we have indoor bouncy castle /wii / xbox / pool table / PSP / PS2 / DS and monitored internet access via four computers. Numerous craft activities including model making, cooking, clay modeling, face painting, painting, and playdoh are also available.

Security is one of our highest priorities and each entry and exit point to the premises has constant CCTV coverage. A member of staff is always outside when children are playing outdoors.

The establishment operates a strict Traffic Safety Control System whilst walking along the road when dropping off and picking up from school. Children attending St Nicolas School are transported via a walking bus system along the main road. All staff wear luminous traffic vests and the children all wear high visibility vests. Children being transported by vehicle are taken direct to school gate entrances.
